DAS Foundation was founded in March 2015 with the idea to guide and incentivize more individuals to do business planning for their own business. Our focus is to reduce the number of people whose business close within the first few years due to lack of financial and strategic planning.
Inspiration for our projects came from working with the community to provide business courses and working with a social project in Mexico.
In 2013, Regina Duran with the help of Duran Accounting Solutions started giving business courses focused on taxes and small business entrepreneurship to the Hispanic Community. More than 500 people have taken courses with the goal of gaining skills to launch their dreams. After seeing the desire of the Hispanic community for more tools and resources, Regina launched the first Business Expo that brought together over 30 government, nonprofit and business organizations to provide information and resources for small business owners and entrepreneurs.
In 2014 after vacationing in Queretaro, Mexico, Regina was inspired to help a group of visually impaired entrepreneurs launch a massage training school. With over almost a year of business plan advice, the team launched RELAX a massage school for the visually impaired. DAS Foundation has a deep belief in helping others help themselves. The RELAX massage school is providing sustainable change in Queretaro. We want to continue that impact in Arizona, which is why we launched the First Annual Hispanic Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
We launched DAS Foundation as a way to formalize our initiatives and grow our impact. We believe in entrepreneurs who are the future agents of change for their families and communities.
